DESCRIPTION
In April 2024, Stephanie, Jason, Jack, and I competed in the NYU Violet Pitch competition, aiming to use blockchain to improve business operations. We developed Gordon, a SaaS platform that connects designers with global 3D printing manufacturers, helping creatives scale their businesses while promoting sustainable logistics.

THE PROBLEM
The Global Manufacturing Hurdle
Global shipping is inefficient, adding up to 15% in costs. Outdated supply chains limit access to unique products. With 70% of consumers demanding eco-friendly delivery, it's time for a new solution.
RESEARCH
Shipping and Manufacturing Challenges for SMB
Jackie, a Korea-based creator with 2 million Instagram followers, faces high shipping costs for her 3D-printed furniture. Like many designers, she lacks access to a global manufacturing network, and without a central hub, it's hard to produce and deliver internationally. On top of that, copyright concerns make it risky for creators to protect their designs in a fragmented market.

Gordon connects designers with local 3D-printing manufacturers, saving them high shipping costs and reducing carbon emissions by eliminating international shipping. For instance, Jackie in Korea can produce in New York for a local client, cutting costs and environmental impact. Gordon also uses blockchain for faster, fee-free international transactions and NFTs to protect designers’ copyrights, preventing misuse of their designs.

Streamlined Design Management with Gordon
Designers log into Gordon to view their products on an interactive map, manage statuses, and create NFT collections. They select manufacturers based on location and price, can add quality assurance services, and place orders, with Gordon facilitating communication, payment, and contract enforcement while ensuring creative control.
